5th Annual Onion River Century Ride!! Saturday, July 26th 2008, 8:30a.m. Volunteers needed to help with the 5th Annual Onion River Century Ride! Every year, the last Saturday of July, Onion River Sports has a century ride that benefits the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. The 5th Annual Century Ride is this Saturday, July 26. The race starts at 8:30am from the Montpelier Recreation area. There are two loops: one is 100k (62 miles) and the other is 111miles. We’re looking for people to bake cookies, (oatmeal, raisin, nuts, dates are all good) and cook up a batch of pasta salad or potato salad or make a lovely green salad. The baked goods are for the food stops along the way in Hardwick, Barton, East Albany, North Wolcott and Elmore. The salads are for the end-of-the-ride BBQ in Montpelier. If you can bake or cook, work at one of the food stops or at the BBQ please let us know! ORS Century Ride RAFFLE Drawing is July 31, 2008 Tickets are $5 apiece or 5 for $20, and are on sale at the Library, Onion River Sports and at the Farmers’ Market! Prizes include a car rack system from Onion River Sports, Lake Elmore State Park Boat Rental & Day Pass, many excellent gift certificates and MORE! |

~New Materials Adult library JULY 2008 (.txt). Children's and young adult JULY 2008(.txt) Hint: these are plain text files. Use the Find tool to jump to the section you want to browse. E.g. Go to New Materials Adult Library, click on Edit at the top of the window, then click on Find on this page, type in Mysteries, and then click Next. ~Driving this vacation? Borrow some audio-books from the Library! If you have a car trip before you and want to make the miles fly by, bring some audio-books along on your travels. The Kellogg-Hubbard has the best selection of audio-books on tape and CD in Central Vermont. CD and DVD cases should never be kept in your car or near other sources of extreme heat or cold. This damages the cases and the discs. ~New Travel Guides If the price of gas is keeping you closer to home this summer, remember that you can find a wealth of travel guides about Vermont, New England and even Montreal on the library shelves. Here are just a few new arrivals:
