Friday, October 2nd @ 10:30AM ‘Hold this’- Join local author Carolyn Scoppettone for a reading of her first picture book, Hold This. The book was inspired by walks in Hubbard Park and there will be a story walk up all day in the park as a continued exploration part of this event. (Hayes Room and Hubbard Park)
Tuesday, October 6th @ 10:30AM ‘Fire Safety Story time’-Walk with us to the Montpelier Fire Department to meet the fire fighters and learn about fire safety. (Meet at Hayes Room, walk to Fire Department)
Thursday, October 8th @ 9:15 ‘Outreach Story time’ Nicole will be travelling to Calais Elementary to share her favorite silly and spooky stories. Open to the public. (Calais Elementary)
Friday, October 9th @ 10:30AM ‘A walk among the planets’- Learn about the sizes and special qualities of the planets and hear stories about space exploration. (Hayes room and outside, weather permitting)
Tuesday, October 13th @ 10:30AM ‘Dance to Learn’- Join Active Brain, Active Body for the Brain Dance. (Hayes room)
Friday, October 16th @ 10:30AM ‘Yoga Story time’- Miss Chrissy is back and ready to lead us in Yoga stories.
Tuesday, October 20th @ 10:30 ‘A trip to the Gary Home’ – We will take a short walk to the Gary home and have story time with the residents there. (Meet at Hayes room, walk to Gary Home)
Thursday, October 22nd @ 9:15AM ‘Outreach Story time’ Nicole will be travelling to East Montpelier Elementary Elementary to share her favorite silly and spooky stories. Open to the public. (East Montpelier Elementary)
Friday, October 23rd @ 10:30AM ‘Stories of the Harvest’- We will have different kinds of apples to sample and fun stories for the fall harvest. (Hayes room)
Tuesday, October 27th @ 10:30AM ‘Spanish Storytime’ Michelle shares songs and stories from Latin America.
Friday, October 30th @ 10:30AM ‘Spooky Stories’ But not REALLY spooky….Come get the chills with us. (Hayes Room)

Tech Tuesdays @ 3:30- Nicole has some fun new maker projects in the works. Join us for the planned project or create your own fun with the maker cart. (Children’s Library)
Wednesdays from 3 to 4 PM, Read to Clara - Clara the therapy dog will be coming to read. Call the library to sign up for your block.
Wednesdays @ 3:30- Math Club- A place for kids in grades 4-6 who love math! Wednesdays @ 5:30, Chess Club - Learn chess or improve your game with instructor Robert Nichols. Register at the Children’s Library desk or just show up! (Children’s Library)

Thursday, October 1st @ 3:30PM- B.R.A.V.E. Come join Kasia, Miss Orange County Collegiate, for a presentation on her pageants’ anti-bullying platform B.R.A.V.E.! There will be a book reading, as well as a craft and snack! For grades 5-8 (Hayes Room)
Saturday, October 3rd @ 3:00PM- ‘Ambassador’ Juvenile Book club. Pick up a copy of Ambassador by William Alexander. We will be discussing the book in preparation for an author reading of the second book Nomad later in the month.
Friday, October 9th @ 3:00PM- After school Movie. Wall-E. (Hayes Room)
Friday, October 9th@7PM – ‘Star Party’ Bring your telescope or use ours. We’re going to try to see the stars!
Saturday, October 10th – Star Wars Reads Day. Activities all day long!
Thursday, October 15th @ 4PM – Summit to Union Music Performance: Students from the Summit School Ukulele, World Chorus and Jugband classes at Union Elementary will come together in a performance celebrating the end of their first session!
Wednesday, October 14th @6:30PM– ‘Wizard of Earthsea’ YA book club. Open to all interested in YA literature! Copies available at the Children’s Library desk. Description: “In his hunger for power and knowledge, Sparrowhawk tampered with long-held secrets and loosed a terrible shadow upon the world.
