Who can use it: All citizens of Vermont who have access to the services of a public library are eligible to use Universal Class for free in the library or from remote sites.
What it is: Over 500 high-quality online courses, geared toward high-school and older learners, covering a wide range of content

How to use it: Register online with your 14-digit library barcode and an email address. Then participate in the classes at your own pace, correspond with instructors online with up to six months to complete an individual class.

Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization. The site offers free online classes in a wide variety of subjects, aimed toward elementary and high school skill levels.
